What would motivate you to leave your homeland?
Austrian Lutheran exiles and French Huguenots were forced to leave their homeland on account of their faith. In today’s world, in addition to leaving their homeland for religious reasons, people are compelled to leave for any number of reasons: war, violence, human rights abuse, ethical or gender-specific issues. Additionally economic issues, lack of prospects or hunger might lead some people to migrate. In future, the global climate crisis and its effects will necessitate waves of migration.
While the reasons for migration might be overwhelmingly negative, there are also positive aspects that encourage people to migrate: new job prospects or moving to a partner’s country.
Which conceivable reasons would lead you to consider migrating to another country?
Or have you long considered—hopefully for positive reasons—leaving your homeland?
Or—regardless of the consequences on your well-being—would you never consider migration?
Take a moment to consider… then throw one or several wooden balls into the tubes which correspond with your decision!
Should none of the above reasons speak to your reasons for considering migration, feel free to write down your own specific reasoning. We look forward to your feedback!
